We’ve been away for a few weeks, so imagine the pleasant surprise upon returning to the email to find a bumper crop of new cameras to tell you about.
First of all SIX new drops from Jon C. whilst he was holidaying in Paris.
Camera 65 was handed over to a juggler outside Notre Dame Cathedral
Camera 66 was left outside of the Louvre
Camera 67 was left on the Eiffel Tower
Camera 68 was left at the Sacre Coeur
Camera 69 was left outside a shop on the Rue Saint-Honore
Camera 70 was handed over to a couple near Jim Morrison’s tomb
Jon also was the first to use our french instructions, provided by Lucy O, who very kindly translated our English version when dropping Camera 48 in Greece.
Next, Tom K. wrote to tell us about his drop of Camera 71 in Honolulu, Hawaii
I gave the camera to Pauahi, a native Hawaiian girl who worked at a bar we frequented in Honolulu.
Mahalo Tom, and we’re looking forward to hearing from Pauahi, who you can see in the image at the top of this post.
Finally, last night Matthew spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Jamillah Knowles, from the Pods and Blogs show about what we’re doing. The interview is going to be live on Tuesday morning 2.30am (get up early!), but if you can’t quite manage that, it will appear in the podcast also. We’ll post it when it has aired.

Kris and Matt, the wonderful people who brought Camera 22 home last year, have released their own camera in San Luis Obispo, California, USA.
They say:
After taking a couple of pics with the new camera, Matt handed the camera off to one of the writers at the New Times newspaper.
Thanks guys! Let’s hope your camera is as successful as the one you found!

A bumper update for you today, so lets start from the top
Camera 54 and Camera 55: Dropped off in Peckham, London, along with a couple of shots of the drop.
Camera 56 was left in the bar at the Shaston Arms near Carnaby Street, London by me.

Camera 58 has been dropped off in Bucharest, Romania by Dominique P, who also dropped off one of the really early cameras in Germany.
Updates from existing cameras which are moving around:
Camera 53: Dropped off by Jason T back in February, has been found by Rebecca, who picked it up from its original location in Cookeville TN, USA
And returning home..
Camera 47 is winging its way back to us. Linda G, wrote to us and said:
It started in London then took it to Thailand and Cambodia and back to Cornwall. Looks as if these are the in places to visit this year.
Clearly, our cameras are in the hottest locations in the world!

Our first camera in February 2009, the wonderful Lucy O has dropped off our first Greek camera:
I handed a camera over to an English speaking, Greek Follow-Spot Operator, at the Badminton Theatre in Athens today. Her name is Evina, but I’m waiting on a business card for her surname as it seemed to be about 10 syllables long! I handed her the instructions in English, and also in Greek…
Lucy has also very kindly helped us get translations of our instructions into Greek, French, Italian and Russian! σας ευχαÏιστώ, merci, grazie, вы (that’s thank-you in each of those languages, courtesy of Babelfish

Nicky G. has written in to tell us about the camera which we sent her earlier in January:
It went to Cornwall and back, but the seal wasn’t broken, as we didn’t meet any other humans during those three days. I was tempted to leave it down at the beach but i thought the sea spray might finish it!
So it’s on it’s merry way ( well arrived by now ) on a trip to Thailand, and possibly Cambodia. We’ll see.
The first photo is of me and my dad playing table football in Kick bar. So not too tropical a start. But i reckon there’ll be some winter sun action soon. My Mum knows a Burmese lady that they usually meet up with, so it may well end up with her for a bit. Interesting to see where it goes.
Very tropical indeed, here’s hoping we hear back from Camera 47, which has been added to the tracker and maps. Nicky runs the excellent http://www.monster-munch.com site, which is chocked full of lovely things, not least sock monsters. Go say hello.

“in the stuffed animal gallery at the horniman museum”
If you were doing a bit of culture at the wonderful Horniman Museum near Dulwich in London on Sunday, did you pick it up? Or did the security guard whisk it away before someone got a chance. Let us know!
Thanks Hilary.

Quick update on some new cameras which have gone out:
Camera 36: Dropped off in Ankara, Turkey by Barry D (of Chamonix/Kylie and Gaudi Cathedral fame) – handed over to a Phd student. Hoping for some pics of that exchange soon!
Camera 37: Handed over to Andy DG in the bar in Great Queen Street, unsurprisingly on Great Queen Street, London.
Camera 38: Handed over to the barman also at the Great Queen Street, who promptly left it on the bar, and an Irish bloke picked it up before the end of the evening, and we got chatting about the project.
Cameras 39 & 40: Handed over to Kirsty who was visiting SI Camp as part of her work for the Child’s i Foundation last night. Waiting to hear back on those.
This brings us dangerously close 50 cameras, half way to our initial target to release. Fancy helping out and getting more cameras out there? Let us know at the Make Your Own! page.
ps. if you haven’t been to the Great Queen Street, and you get an opportunity to, do! They serve the most amazing food, being the sister of the legendary Anchor and Hope in Waterloo.

Camera 26: Dropped off in St Ives by Simon A: “Finally got going on this – took some pictures of Porthmeor beach in St Ives then left it on a smart mini cooper in the Island car park there. Fingers crossed”
Camera 33 and 34: Dropped off in Nashville, Tennessee by Richard C: “I got one dropped before the rain began, hopefully it was picked up before it got bad. Once it stops I will get the other camera put out. We got like 4 or 5 inches the last few days.”
Camera 35: Dropped off in a ski lift in Chamonix by Barry and Joanna D – i reckon this is our ‘highest’ camera yet!
Thanks guys!
