  We will fly via Copenhagen to Greenland where we are being airlifted by helicopter to the ice sheets to camp out and do hydrological field work. We are leaving on 19th June!!

  Right, lovely sunny day and we're off into the field with the cameras :) Bit of a drama last night, one of our party cut the top of his finger off, luckily for us the Americans here have good medics and it's all good, he'll just have to boss everyone else around and not lift anything for a while!! There was a huge party in town last night with fireworks, which was very strange seeing as it didn't really get dark!! Greenland got home governance from Denmark yesterday so the locals were all up for a party! Catch you when we get back

  I was handed one of your cameras at a remote field camp called Sky-Blu at the base of the Antarctic Peninsula, whilst working for the British Antarctic Survey this summer. I took it with me on a project at the South Pole, and then returned with it to the British Base, Rothera. I've handed it to a colleague who will take a couple of snaps then pass it on northwards. I took a couple of pics at the South Pole - apologies if there are a couple of spoiled pics, but it was -30c and my gloved fingers were awkward! The giant Pooh Bear is another story altogether, but the image of a giant stuffed bear at the Pole was too good to pass up! Good luck with the project - looked at the site, and it was really intriguing. I'd love to see the results of the developed film. Looks like this camera's now been to the north and south ends of the earth.

  I have taken a couple of photos, one of our main building and one of a Skua chick during a monitoring survey of breeding Skua on the point. (photo attached taken by Keith Waddell, a base assistant, of the camera in use). I have now given it to Celine, who has just completed a year as meteorologist on base. She left Rothera this morning with the camera and is heading North to travel through Chile and Peru. With any luck - the camera should find its way back to you at some point - and it would be really good to see some of the photos on this well travelled camera!!

  Matt aka MVT gave me this camera at Rothera, Antarctica. It is now with me in Ireland. I took some photos en route home - Airplanes at Rothera on the morning I left, Torres del Paine National Park Chile, Man preparing Ceviche on Isle de Chiloé, Iguazu Falls (Brazilian Side). Then I took one in Ireland - Inchadoney Beach in West Cork.

  Wow. It looks cold there. The photos are fantastic. I think it would be amazing to go somewhere like that.

  John: The label 'found' isn't quite right, I agree. We need to think of some other label, like 'update' for when we hear more about a camera's movements.

  Good to see the pics now! They are another good reminder of a fantastic season working in Antarctica. Hope everyone's well & happy down there; and hope we get a chance to meet up again.
