    A baobab tree
    Vultures feasting on dead fish.
Haven’t seen such huge machines for making a new road.
Sheep for Tabaski waiting for a boat, on top of a bushtaxi, and on the Banjul ferry.
Compound with locals making axes using Heath Robinson bellows.
The Tabaski meal is goat which was delicious and very tender.
Gambian art work and basket weaving.

Ibrahim took photos of his family and the fruit sellers at the market, whilst Fatou snapped her materials.

  • Nov 1st, 2010 released by Linda G.

    Location: Fajara, Gambia

Handed over to Ibrahim, a juice man on the beach at Fajara by Linda G.

    Linda G. says :

Took the camera from Cornwall to The Gambia, West Africa.
Gave the camera to Ibrahim a juice man on the beach at Fajara.
Second photo is him in his outfit for Tabaski, a special day so many days after the end of Ramadan. If they can afford it everyone kills a ram, and then the family
enjoy a meal. Part of the ram is given as charity to the less well off. Ladies have to have a new dress, but the children come first. They visit neighbouring compounds and collect a few coins.

Gave the camera to Fatou who has a stall in the Craft market in Fajara.
